Hy Vee started in 1930 in Iowa by Charles Hyde and David Vrendenburg. The name Hy Vee comes from a combination of the founders names. The company was incorporated in 1938 to become an employee owned grocery store.
Hy Vee has more than 240 stores in the Midwestern United States.
